ADULTS ARE CHILDREN IN BIG BODIES

Sometimes I am amazed at how adults treat each other.  Today, I believe we have forgotten the things we knew as children.  Consider the words we spoke so often before we "grew up."

These ten words have probably been taught to all of us by our parents, or loved ones.  For some reason, as we become adults, we tend to use those words less frequently.  In doing so we ignored this basic truth:  Adults are just children in big bodies.

The ten words listed above, have been replaced by rudeness, criticism, and for many folks, an entrenched habit of looking at everything in a negative light.

POSSESSING PRECEEDS GIVING

I recall an experience I had as a young father.  I was trying to get one of the children to be more "sharing" with others.  It came to me that sharing is not just difficult for children; it is also difficult for "adults" who are simply children in big bodies.

It also involves some very fundamental beliefs:

1.      It is hard to share if you believe there isn't enough to share.  Many folks simply believe that scarcity is the rule, causing them to want to "get theirs first" because there isn't enough to go around.
2.      The opposite paradigm is to believe in "abundance"—that there is enough for everyone.
3.      Then I remembered reading a very profound thought.  You cannot give what you do not have.  Therefore, possessing precedes giving!

I wish I knew as a young father what I know now.  I probably would not have been so insistent of my children sharing, when perhaps they did not feel like they really "owned" what they were expected to share.

In Agel, I believe it is so important for us to take ownership of what it is we are trying to share.  How can we be passionate advocates of our remarkable life changing products, if we do not "own" that knowledge through our own experience?

How can we talk about financial abundance if we really don't "own" that belief in our hearts?

How can we talk about Agel Cares, and the difference we are making in children's lives if we don't really own that conviction by contributing ourselves?

We simply can't give away what we do not have.  Possessing always precedes giving.
When we live our lives this way, I believe we also experience an inner joy, a feeling of being aligned.  What a compliment it was to Ghandi when someone said, "What Ghandi thinks, Ghandi says.  What Ghandi says, Ghandi does.

I work everyday to become better in this area.  I invite you to join me, and one at a time, person by person, we will make the world a better place for everyone.

I know you’re busy:  Bills to pay, housework to do, rush hour, your job, I get all that.  But find time to dream!  Dream bold, daring and imaginative dreams, because that is who you will become.

Find time to be a philosopher, photographer, writer, sculptor, musician, dancer, or poet.  Feed the creative energy in you and watch a new world open up for you.

Keeping Others Happy by Randy Gage

Many people, they think it’s noble, spiritual, or righteous to make serving others your purpose in life.  I believe nothing could be further from the truth.
I can’t think of anything more sick, twisted, and dysfunctional than the people who go through their whole lives trying to keep others happy.  I tried that for years, back when my self-esteem was in the basement.  I finally learned that it is the quickest route to neurosis.
You must not sacrifice yourself to others because that is depravity, a certain state of moral corruption and degradation.  It is a sure symptom of mental illness.  Do you really get that?
And likewise for the opposite situation.  You shouldn’t ask others to sacrifice for you, for that is no less sick and depraved.  Corrupting the morals of others is no less evil than corrupting your own.
Your moral prerogative is to make sure your own needs are met.  Only then can you really help anyone else.  And if everyone lived by this philosophy, you’d be amazed at what a wonderful place the world would be.
So please give all this some critical thought.  And we’ll pick up there on the next post.

TO KNOW A THING AND NOT DO IT IS NOT TO KNOW IT

FIRST

LEARN TO DO FIRST THINGS FIRST.

ALL ACTIVITIES ARE NOT OF EQUAL IMPORTANCE.  GET IN THE HABIT OF MAKING A LIST EACH NIGHT BEFORE YOU GO TO BED OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THE NEXT DAY.  ASK THIS ONE QUESTION, AND IT  WILL HELP YOU.  "IF I COULD DO JUST ONE THING TO BUILD TOMORROW TO BUILD MY AGEL BUSINESS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?"  THIS WILL LEAD YOU TO THE NUMBER ONE ACTIVITY.  THEN, SIMPLY MAKE YOUR LIST, STARTING WITH NUMBER ONE, AND WORKING YOUR WAY DOWN.

THEN, REMEMBER, YOU START AT THE TOP OF THE LIST, BECAUSE THOSE ACTIVITIES WILL HAVE THE HIGHEST LEVERAGE, AND MAY BE THE MOST DIFFICULT.  CONSIDER THESE KEY ACTIVITIES:
1.      USE THE PRODUCTS DAILY
2.      MAKE APPROACHES, GIVE PRESENTATIONS, AND ENROLL, ENROLL, ENROLL.
3.      DON'T STOP.  I GUARANTEE YOU THAT YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU DO NOT STOP.

SECOND

SET GREATER EXPECTATIONS FOR YOUR PEOPLE.

SOMETIMES WE ARE TIMID IN WHAT WE ASK PEOPLE TO DO.  DON'T HESITATE TO ASK THEM TO BUY THE ---------PACK.  CHALLENGE THEM TO GET THE PRESIDENT'S AWARD EACH MONTH.  (ENROLL 8?)  ASK TO HELP THEM MAKE THEIR CONTACT LIST.  EXPECT THEM TO PRODUCE, AND THEY WILL.

THIRD

AVOID "SADDLING UP VS. RIDING."

I WROTE ABOUT THIS ON ____AND YOU CAN FIND IT ON OUR SITE AT ___________.  SIMPLY PUT, THIS MEANS THAT SOME ACTIVITIES ARE "SADDLING UP" PREPARING TO RIDE, AND SOME ARE ACTUALLY RIDING.
FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN YOU ARE "SADDLING UP" YOU ARE ATTENDING MEETINGS, LEARNING ABOUT PRODUCTS. LISTENING TO INSPIRATIONAL TAPES  OR ATTENDING TRAININGS.  ALL THESE THINGS ARE GOOD, BUT THEY ARE NOT "RIDING" AND WILL NOT BRING ENROLLMENTS.
"RIDING" HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT WHAT YOU LEARNED TO USE,  AND BECOME REGULAR IN APPROACHING PEOPLE, GIVING PRESENTATIONS, AND ENROLLING.
EINSTEIN SAID, "NOTHING HAPPENS UNTIL SOMETHING MOVES." THIS BUSINESS REQUIRES MORE THAN PREPARATION.  IT REQUIRES EXECUTION OF HIGHLY LEVERAGED ACTIVITIES.

FOURTH,
TAKE TIME WITH KEY PEOPLE.

THIS INVOLVES WORKING THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO WORK, WORKING WITH YOUR PRODUCERS, FANNING THE FLAMES ON THE "HOT SPOTS" IN YOUR GROUP.  BLOWING ON DEAD WOOD TO CREATE SPARKS NEVER WORKS.

FIFTH,

LEARN TO SAY "NO" TO THE UNIMPORTANT.

SO MANY ACTIVITIES ARE TIME WASTERS AND GIVE US NOTHING IN RETURN.  PICKING UP THE PHONE TO GOSSIP ABOUT SOMEONE IN YOUR GROUP IS A TIME WASTER AND BRINGS A NEGATIVE SPIRIT.  MURMURING INSTEAD OF ACTING IS A TIME WASTER.  SPENDING HOURS ON THE INTERNET SENDING OUT EMAILS IS NON-PRODUCTIVE.  INSTEAD, GO BACK TO YOUR LIST IN DOING FIRST THINGS FIRST, AND YOUR PRODUCTIVITY WILL INCREASE 1000%.

SIXTIH

SHOW UP FOR WORK AT AGEL EVERY DAY.

PERHAPS YOU ONLY HAVE AN HOUR OR TWO.  WHATEVER YOU CAN GIVE, DO IT DAILY.  TREAT AGEL LIKE A BUSINESS NOT A HOBBY, AND IT WILL BECOME THAT.(USE QUOTE FROM QUOTE SHEET I SENT ABOUT MOZART, BEETHOVEN AND OTHERS WHO WENT TO WORK EVERY DAY)


FINALLY, REMEMBER,  "TO KNOW A THING AND NOT TO DO IT IS NOT TO KNOW IT."

IF YOU KNOW THESE THINGS WILL BRING SUCCESS, BUT CHOOSE NOT TO DO THEM, YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT KNOW THEM--AND IN FACT IF YOU DO NOT DO THE THINGS YOU KNOW EVENTUALLY YOU LOSE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND YOUR PASSION.

AT MEETINGS WE HAVE HELD RECENTLY WITH LEADERS IN CALIFORNIA, AND MANY OTHER PLACES, WE ARE MEETING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE CHOOSING TO CHANGE THEIR HABITS, THEIR WAY OF DOING BUSINESS, AND RAISING THE BAR AND LENGTHENING THEIR STRIDE.

CHOOSE WELL MY FRIENDS.  THIS IS "RARE AIR" WE ARE EXPERIENCING IN AGEL.  IT IS A TIME OF UNPARALLED OPPORTUNITY!
